At the Palmetto Health Breast Center, our dedication to improving women's health has earned us the status of Breast Imaging Center of Excellence, awarded by the American College of Radiology (ACR). We have achieved the ACR high standards for quality, personnel, and equipment.
The National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers has granted Palmetto Health Breast Center full accreditation, making it the first fully accredited breast center in the South Carolina! The program, administered by the American College of Surgeons, awarded the Breast Center a three-year, full accreditation in July 2009. Accreditation by the program ensures that patients will have access to:
- Comprehensive care, including a full range of services
- Multidisciplinary team approach to coordinate the best treatment options
- Breast Cancer Conferences
- Nurse Navigators
- Information about ongoing clinical trials
- Quality breast care close to home
